I've been slacking on my running lately and have been hoping to get back on track. I also wanted to find a new activity to help keep my fitness where it should be in the winter, so I decided to give nordic skiing a try.
I was looking forward to running in the annual Missoula Turkey Day 8k to see how my time compared to last year. I have not been running as much as I would like in the past two months, but I had put in the most miles by far this year and was hoping to improve on my time of 41:33.27 from last year. Things did not go as planned...
I have a favorite tree along the bike path that travels between Lolo and Hamilton in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana.
I always try to get out between Missoula and Lolo each fall to shoot the river when it is encased with color from the turning leaves. Each different year has different results and I always look forward to seeing what each fall will bring. I was able to get out on a Friday morning this year and was excited with the photos I was able to get.
It is hard to keep running as the summer winds down and we move into fall. I've been hoping to use the Run Wild Missoula sponsored Pumpkin Run 5k and The Turkey Day 8k as motivation to keep me getting miles in as the year ends.
